Traditional Chinese culture and origin should be inherited

Recently, Mr Chew encouraged Malaysian Chinese to uphold the traditional Chinese education besides sustaining the origin and culture of Chinese so as to prevent it being lost. Traditional Chinese culture and origin should be inherited so that our next generations will be able to experience it.

He said, Chinese religions such as Taoism and Buddhism are well adapted by the local Malaysian Chinese.

The unique of Chinese Culture in Malaysia has been introduced from China since decades ago. The activities associated with Chinese religions, traditions, cultures, dialects immersed in Chinese community in Malaysia long long ago.

He pointed that Freedom of Religion stated in Article 11 (2) of the Federal Constitution  observes the right and freedom to practice ones religion and subject to the applicable laws restricting the propagation of other religions to Muslims. The Constitutions also provides Islam is the religion of the country and other religions may be practiced in peace and harmony. Further, stated in Article 11 (4), Malaysia Chinese is very fortunate to have the freedom to practice their own religion.

Malaysia is a multi racial country, the spirit of understanding and tolerance towards each other among the multi ethnic society is vital and should be practiced at all times. For instance, we have Government sectors through representatives and other institutions making continuous effort in promoting mutual respect among different religions and races in Malaysia such as to organize activities such as dialogues, seminars, conferences. This again strengthen contact among the Malaysians. Hence, we will be rational and united in solving other matters together for our country and towards achieving and peaceful, enriching country.

He further said that there are countries which suffer from racial riots, religions tension. Malaysia is very fortunate that all of us live in peaceful and harmony environment.
