National Education Blueprint

The recent launched of National Education Blueprint is aimed to overhaul the education system nationwide and to build a strong and effective teaching force. The preliminary report was developed after following research and public engagement carried out by the Ministry. Approximately 1.2 mil comments and feedback received.

The preliminary report stated to maintain the structure of the education system. However, the blueprint outlines 11 shifts required to transform the national education system to be on par with and comparable to that of developed nations, over the next 13 years.
The Blueprint focuses on six student attributes - Knowledge, Thinking Skills, Leadership, Bilingual Proficiency, Ethics and National Identity. To achieve desired outcomes, reform of education system to be approached in 11 shifts.
In view of the implementation of National Education Blueprint, I believe that the Government is commitment over the next 15 years to promote and Implement the national education system in order to structure the best education system to provide the best suitable training for the students to enter into the workforce.
In my opinion, education is the vital aspect for a country growth and development. Through adequate teaching system, students will be trained to be creative, knowledgeable, innovative, effective communication and strong leadership skills. Thus, the Government is making continuous effort to transform a better and more effective education system in order to improve the student intellectual skills.
By implementation of the blueprint, I believe it not only helps to narrow down the gap between the schools in urban and rural areas but also able to increase the level of students competencies in accordance to PISA (Program of International Student Assessment) as well as TIMMS (Trends in Mathematics and Science Study)
More importantly, we should provide full support to the implementation of National Education Blueprint for the mutual benefits for all.
There will be an Open Day held in October to provide information, advice, referrals of the National Education Blueprint. I urge every stakeholders to Participate in this Open Day so that all parties will able fully understanding the Blueprint as well as authority will able to listen to the opinion expressed by the public. The public must give a constructive criticism.
