MCA President Dato’ Seri Liow Tiong Lai Has No Clue of the Causes of Defeat

Kuala Lumpur, 19th—In response to MCA President Dato’ Seri Liow Tiong Lai who after chairing the MCA Central Committee Meeting has laid out his analysis of MCA’s disastrous defeat in the 14th general election after the Central Committee Meeting, I do not agree with his review.

Liow Tiong Lai has attributed the defeat to the three cornered fights where PAS was there to split votes, MCA’s strong opposition to The Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) (Amendment) Bill 2016 (Act 355) that caused it losing the Malay votes, and the opposition’s billboards that say ‘voting BN equals to voting for Najib and wife’. MCA Bandar Tun Razak chief, Datuk Chew Yin Keen thinks otherwise as well as other factors.

Datuk Chew says that MCA Central Committee should examine the main reason for the disastrous defeat of MCA honestly and neutrally for the betterment of MCA.

In fact, it is well known fact that the main reason for the defeat and the loss of federal power by Barisan Nasional in the general election is the scandals surrounding the outgoing Prime Minister Najib and his family members, especially the 1MDB and RM2.6 billion political donation. The scandals had BN failed to answer the opposition’s waves of criticism.

The people, irrespective of race and religion, deem that BN Government continuously abuses of power and position to the maximum benefit of their comrades was also a factor. For example, the case of Datuk Rizalman’s drug abuses case, his urine tested from positive to negative and later a reverse test result. No one believe the PDRM. This case has caused the people total lost faith in the BN Government. The people rebel and demand change of government, said Datuk Chew.

Datuk Chew Yin Keen says that “in addition, the inflation caused by the GST over the period of the BN government has added to the burden of the people and caused the voters to make the choice of changing the government, which caused BN to lose its ruling power.” This factor caused the traditional Malay supporters of BN rebel and voted the opposition.

There is another reason why Chinese voted against MCA, according to Datuk Chew Yin Keen, is that MCA has failed to play the role of protector of the Chinese community in BN. The image of MCA imprinted on the minds of the Chinese community is that of a yes man of UMNO. Instead of standing up to UMNO, it had chosen to compromise in dealing with every crisis. This has seriously hurt the dignity of the Malaysians Chinese.

The classic example of UMNO snatches the Bandar Tun Razak Parliament seat from MCA, despite that MCA Division worked tirelessly in the constituency. To add salt to the wound, UMNO nominated nominated someone who has not appeared in the constituency since 2013. What a joke?

Therefore, the Chinese voters do not trust MCA can fight or protect their rights, as they themselves unable to preserve the Bandar Tun Razak Parliament seat.

Another factor that caused the defeat of BN was the re-delineation of election boundary that the people especially young voters deem the BN Government cheating the people’s rights as well as unjust and unfair to the opposition, said Datuk Chew. This caused the uprising of young voters and educated voters to rebel against BN.

Datuk Chew has also stated that if MCA still choose to ignore the real causes of the disastrous defeat and instead blame it on others, MCA will never be able to stand up again. Laying the blame on MCA’s strong position to the Act 355 and three-cornered fights is absurd as they are not the main reasons for the defeat of MCA.

MCA needs to accept the real causes of defeat and re-think, strategize and move on to build a honest, sincere and trustworthy party. With that, the people will support the Party, said Datuk Chew.

Datuk Chew Yin Keen is in no way intend to accuse the Party’s Central Committee of anything. He is only hoping that MCA could examine the real cause and stand up again in the aftermath of the defeat so that MCA can continue to serve the people especially Chinese community and achieve a better result in the next general election. Otherwise, MCA will be varnished and become history.

马华总会长拿督斯里廖中莱对败选原因毫无头绪

（吉隆坡19日讯）马华总会长拿督斯里廖中莱在主持马华中委会后，列出了他对马华在第14届全国大选中灾难性败选的分析结果，我对总会长的检讨表示无法苟同。

廖中莱将马华的败选归咎於于伊斯兰党参选造成三角战，分散了马华的选票，因为马华曾强烈反对355法令，导致马来选票流失及希盟的“投国阵一票等于投纳吉和罗斯马一票”看板，但是拿督丘应权认为还有其他原因导致这次的惨败。

拿督丘应权说，为了马华的未来，马华中委会应该坦承及客观的检讨造成马华遭受灾难性败选的主要原因。

事实上，造成国阵在本届大选吃败仗及失去中央政权的一个广为人知原因，就是围绕着前首相纳吉及家属的丑闻，尤其是一马发展公司及26亿政治献金丑闻，这些丑闻使国阵无法回答在野党一波接一波的批评。

“人民，不分种族及宗教，视国阵政府持续滥权及只顾朋党的利益，这也是国阵败选的原因之一。例如拿督里扎曼涉嫌滥用毒品案件，他的尿检结果从阳性变成阴性，然后有反向测试结果。没有人相信警方。这起案件也导致人民对国阵政府完全失去信任，人民起而反抗及要求换政府。”

拿督丘应权说，除此之外，国阵执政时期落实消费税所带来的通货膨胀，加重了人民的生活负担，使选民做出了要换政府的决定，导致国阵失去政权，这也是造成国阵传统马来支持者选择背弃国阵，投票给在野党的原因之一。

拿督丘应权也指出，华裔选民拒绝马华的另一个原因，就是马华在国阵内无法扮演好华社保护者的角色。马华给予华社的刻板就是巫统的应声虫。马华在面对大是大非之前，没有站出来批评巫统，反而选择用妥协来处理各项危机。这严重的伤害了大马华裔人民的尊严。

“一个经典的例子就是即便马华敦拉萨镇区会日以继夜的在选区内服务，但巫统仍从马华手中抢走敦拉萨镇国会议席。而且巫统还提名了一个从来未在选区出现过的人在这个选区上阵，这如同在马华的伤口上撒盐，更是一个笑话。”

“就因为如此，华裔选民不再相信马华能够为他们斗争及保障他们的权益，因为马华连自己的敦拉萨镇国会议席都保不住。”

另一个导至国阵败选的原因就是选区重划作业。人民，尤其是年轻选民认为国阵政府此举是欺骗人民的权力，同时也对在野党不公平，这导至年青选民及受过良好教育的选民拒绝国阵。

拿督丘应权指出，如果马华仍然选择无视导致马华面对灾难性败选的真正原因，并一味的怪罪他人，那么马华将永远无法再次站起来。一味的将惨败怪罪在马华强烈反对355法案及三角战是荒唐的，因为这并不是马华败选的主要原因。

马华必须接受导至败选的真正原因，然后重新思考丶拟定策略及重新出发，建立一个诚实丶真诚及可信赖的党，只有这样人民才会支持马华。

拿督丘应权无意指责马华中委会。他只是希望马华能够检视败选的真正原因及在惨败后重新站起来，让马华能够继续服务人民，尤其是华社，以便在来届大选取得更好的成绩，否则马华将会灭亡及成为历史。

Bandar Tun Razak Pupils Get Head Start in Saving for Higher Education

STARTING a habit to save money at an early age can be difficult but the returns are worthwhile.

“Many young adults do not have enough money to spend, they also find it tough to get a loan and even place down payment for a car or a house,” said Bandar Tun Razak MCA chief Datuk Chew Yin Keen at the National Education Savings Scheme’s (SSPN) Savings Deposit Contribution SSPN1M event.

Chew said the habit of saving should be cultivated at a young age so that these children would not have a heavy burden to bear when they begin working.

“In Malaysia, saving among youth is uncommon but we can start now at the primary school stage,” he said at the event attended by residents from public housing projects in Bandar Tun Razak.

He later distributed contributions to 260 primary school pupils, with a RM50 deposit each into their SSPN account as a start to their savings plan.

Chew also promised to continue giving them the same amount for the next five years.

He said the government would give a matching grant of RM500 for each child between the ages of seven and 12, who had a minimum savings of RM500 in their SSPN-i or SSPN-i Plus account with the National Higher Education Fund Corpora­tion (PTPTN).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak made the announcement when he presented the 2018 Budget in Parliament last year to inculcate the habit of saving among parents.

Chew has so far distributed contributions to over 520 students, and aims to reach his target of 1,000 students by the end of April.

Datuk Chew Yin Keen, the Chairman of Barisan Nasional Bandar Tun Razak Division, announced that the land issue of Kuan Seng Than Temple in Taman Ikan Emas, Cheras has been resolved. What is even better is that he has got a bigger piece of land for the temple. 

He said that the Kuan Seng Than Temple (better known as “Kwan Ti Temple”) is a centre of worship with a long history in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. Now, the land issue of temple has been solved, which means the temple could now fully focus in its effort of the re-development plan.

“The Land will be gazetted by the Land Office for the sole used of Kwan Ti Temple and the land size is approximately 19,272 sq.ft. The original or existing land size is 1,020 sq.ft. It also changed the land usage from buddist to taoist.

Datuk Chew Yin Keen was quoted as saying during the handover of the Ministry of Federal Territories’s letter of consent to the Wilayah Persekutuan land office to the committee members of Kwan Ti Temple in relation to the aforesaid gazette. 

He also reminded the committee members of Kwan Ti Temple to set aside at least 10 feet buffer zone for future road expansion as agreed.

He disclosed that in future there will be seven temples built around the area. The adjacent SJK(C) NAAM KHEUNG CHERAS is also a school with more than one hundred years of history. This area will have 7 temples and a chinese school will have the potential to be developed into a cultural tourism destination, offering Chinese culture as an attraction. Therefore, it is imperative in the public interest to expand the roads and ensure a smooth traffic flow, especially after the Re-development of Taman Ikan Emas which has been commenced.

He also appealed to all parties to support the fund-raising activities of Kwan Ti Temple, which aims to raise RM3 million for temple’s operating expenses. Projek Pembangunan Semula Taman Ikan Emas

12 Januari 2018 merupakan hari yang amat bermakna bagi penduduk-penduduk Taman Ikan Emas kerana projek pembangunan semula Taman Ikan Emas yang lama tertunggu bermula kerja-kerja pembinaan bagi Fasa 1B yang mempunyai 537 unit. Fasa 1C (1,192 unit) dan Fasa 1A (722 unit) akan bermula dalam masa lebih kurang 6 bulan.

Projek Pembangunan Semula Taman Ikan Emas dijangka mengambil masa 7-8 tahun yang melibatkan 5,689 unit. Fasa 1 dijangka memakan masa selama 3-4 tahun. Penduduk-penduduk Perumahan Awam Sri Pulau Pinang, Sri Melaka dan Perumahan Awam Kluster,Taman Ikan Emas akan berpindah ke Fasa 1 selepas ia siap dibina.

Pangsapuri baru adalah bersaiz 850 kaki persegi dengan 3 bilik tidur dan 2 bilik tandas disertai dengan 1 lot parking.

Cadangan Pembangunan Semula Taman Ikan Emas telahpun dirancang lebih daripada 10 tahun dan berharap pembangunan ini dapat dinikmati oleh penduduk-penduduk Taman Ikan Emas.

Ia juga merupakan satu Projek Kerajaan BN untuk memperkasakan Rakyat melalui pemilikan rumah yang mana akan dapat diturunkan kepada generasi kedua dan seterusnya.

Janji-Janji Manis Adalah Penghalang Pembentukan Kerajaan Yang Mendahulukan Rakyat

Pakatan Harapan telah mengumumkan calon pilihan perdana menteri mereka. Walaupun parti-parti komponen Pakatan Harapan menyuara sokongan sepadu mereka kepada Tun Dr. Mahathir sebagai calon perdana menteri dan cuba mencipta satu suasana perpaduan dalam Pakatan Harapan. 

Namum 24 jam selepas itu, Sangeet, anak perempuan bekas pengerusi DAP Kapal Singh, telah menyuarakan ketidaksetujuan beliau terhadap keputusan itu. Selepas itu, PKR Selangor juga menyatakan mereka tidak setuju dengan Mahathir. Malah mereka mencadangkan Timbalan Pengerusi PKR dan menteri besar Selangor Dato Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali sebagai calon perdana menteri. Segala ini telah menunjukkan aksi perpaduan Pakatan Harapan hanyalah wayang semata-mata.

Sepertimana yang saya selalu berkata, pakatan pambangkang hanya satu gabungan yang berdasarkan kepentingan. Mereka mempunya agenda-agenda yang tersendiri dan bersedia menggadaikan prinsip politik mereka untuk kuasa.

Belum lagi Pakatan Harapan mendapat kuasa pemerintahan, mereka telah bergaduh sesama sendiri atas pencalonan perdana menteri. Sekiranya Pakatan Haparan menang dalam pilihanraya akan datang, parti-parti komponen Pakatan Haparan mesti dalam kekecohan perebutan kuasa. Justerunya, negara akan mengalami keadaan politik yang tidak setabil, ekonomi negara akan terjejas, dan mangsa daripada itu hanyalah rakyat Malaysia.

Jangan lupa, parti Pakatan Harapan hanya beri janji-janji manis saja atau kata-kata manis yang mana mereka tidak dapat tunaikan. Oleh itu, pilihan Rakyat adalah BN parti yang dahulukan Rakyat.
